It’s just impossible not to be attracted to the refreshing yet zesty, clean yet tangy smell of a lemon or a lime.

First, She tried and loved L’Occitane’s Honey and Lemon Eau de Toilette spray, and now She’s equally loving CO Bigelow’s Winter Lemon. The heart of the collection, the Winter Lemon Eau de Toilette spray is one of those products that makes winter a bit more bearable.

The fragrance combines sparkling, bright lemon notes, velvet winter fig, sweet
black currant and warm, sensual undertones of musk, rose and
sandalwood. It has a light, cool, airy aroma – it’s almost as if you can smell the crisp chill – but warms up thanks to its sweet undertones. Wearing it, She feels like a freshly made drink from Her new Penguin Water Carbonator – and that’s really all She’s ever wanted in life …

Housed in simple, classic bottle, the scent is subdued and mellow. It’s as familiar and cozy as your old favorite sweater or pair of slippers – yet comes alive on skin and sparkles with freshness – like newly fallen snow.

The Winter Lemon scent is also avilable in 2-in-1 Honey Bath & Shower Foam, Ultra-Soft Body Butter, and Ultra-Soft Body Lotion.

Those who may be a bit too late in the season for Winter Lemon, be sure to check out CO Bigelow’s Lemon collection, which is a staple at Bath and Body Works.

CO Bigelow’s Winter Lemon Collection is available in Bath & Body Works Stores, and online at COBigelow.com. The Eau de Toilette Spray is available for $29.50.

Vacationing in the islands is all about the tax-free shopping, agreed? The last 2 times The Beauty Bug visited Saint Maarten She had 2 things on her mind – David Yurman jewelry and perfume. Can you blame Her? She’s always been a woman that knows what She wants.

Last month, She almost made it through Her weeks vacation without buying any perfume or beauty products whatsoever, that is, until Her nose led her to the L’Occitane store in the Saint Maarten Airport. She really hadn’t planned on buying anything – She just wanted to waste time before her flight – until Her nose was lured to a bottle resembling honeycomb. It was L’Occitane’s Honey & Lemon Eau de Toilette. The sweet smell was similar to other fragrances that The Beauty Bug had, yet very different at the same time.

As The Beauty Bug continued to smell the citrus-y vanilla fragrance, the sales girl also began to sniff a perspective sale, putting on the full court press; something that’s much too common in the islands – too common, and extremely overwhelming. Doing Her best to ignore the pushy sales girl who had told Her that the island price was 20% lower than the price in the States, The Beauty Bug just kept smelling and smiling. The sweet yet spicy fragrance fit into The Beauty Bug’s fragrance repertoire because of it’s sweet, vanilla base, but what really drew Her in was the sparkling dash of citrus and hint warm cinnamon. The combination of the musk, sweet caramel, bergamot orange, patchouli and jasmine was delicious, and The Beauty Bug just couldn’t resist. Sold! Into the suitcase it went, packed between clothes so the bottle wouldn’t break.

Finally back in the States, The Beauty Bug arrived to Her apartment one suitcase short. The airline had lost Her suitcase containing Her perfume. It was somewhere in Bermuda Triangle of suitcases. All The Beauty Bug could think of was that in an airport somewhere, someone smelled of deliciously fresh Valensole lemons and honey and She was never getting it back.

The Beauty Bug could barely sleep that night, and woke up determined to get Her things back. After calling the airline every hour on the hour, She was elated to hear that Her bag (and Her perfume) were found. Alas, The Beauty Bug was reunited with her Honey and Lemon Eau de Toilette, and She has worn it everyday since.

P.S. Just in case you’re wondering, The “island price” was not 20% cheaper as the sales woman claimed. The Beauty Bug paid $40 for the fragrance and it sells here in The States for $44 plus tax.

The Beauty Bug was a little late in reading Her new Allure this month. It had come in the mail when She was away on vacation, and for the past week sat in the mail pile, still in its plastic mailing bag. Finally, tonight, after watching Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood (how precious is Liam?), She reached for the magazine. She very quickly flipped through the first 50 pages which were mostly ads and was somewhat uninterested – until She saw it. How did She not know about this? Does it smell as good as it looks? Where can She get one…tomorrow?!

She threw down the magazine and ran to Her computer and began furiously typing. She discovered that the David Yurman Fragrance had just launched in July – She calmed down a bit after realizing it was still in fact very new.

Allure describes the scent as “a blend of patchouli, exotic woods, natural rose oil, and fresh green petals”, but with a bottle that looks like that, does it really matter how it smells? In true Yurman style, the cap is carved with cables – so striking, yet classic. The body of the bottle has more of a feminine touch, and is reminiscent of Yurman’s gemstone rings. And as if The Beauty Bug wasn’t sold yet, the bottle neck is created in a form of Yurman wedding band. Since The Beauty Bug and The Beauty Bug Fiancee just bought Yurman weddings bands in St. Maarten, how can She resist? A fragrance to match Her wedding band…

For all you fragrance fanatics, the nose behind this Yurman scent is Harry Fremont. Now Smell This describes this as a “love it or hate it” fragrance.

David Yurman by David Yurman is available at Saks Fifth Avenue and David Yurman boutiques for $120.

During a mid-day IM conversation with a fellow beauty addict, The Beauty Bug confessed that She latches on to fragrances that She likes because they are the most personal beauty product. Yes, it’s true that different colors wear differently on different skin tones – but perfume is more distinguishable and more powerful than a lip gloss or an eye shadow.

An admitted latcher, The Beauty Bug always wears vanilla-based, spicy woodsy fragrances. In fact, when it comes to Her fragrances choices, Her less than extensive fragrance is comprised of fragrances that are all quite similar, offering little to no variety.

But have no fear ladies, a fragrance intervention isn’t need just yet because this summer marks a momentous occasion in The Beauty Bug’s fragrance repertoire. She’s began wearing a floral based scent. The fragrance that made The Beauty Bug wake up and smell how fresh flowers can actually smell? CLEAN Summer.

CLEAN Summer is not your typical floral fragrance. There’s no overwhelming, oppressive, floral notes that make you gag, or give you a headache as the day progresses. CLEAN Summer is simple, light, crisp and uplifting – it’s the perfect blend of sparkling citrus and fresh flowers. It has helped to put an extra bounce in The Beauty Bug’s step these past few days when the weather has been unbearably muggy and suffocating.

The Beauty Bug most loves the how fresh this fragrance is. It’s infused with extracts of Italian Limoncello, Bergamot, Rose Ice, Mirabelle Plum and Lilly of the Valley. The citrus-based components provide a nice sweet, fruity smell, and the florals bring a clear, refreshing scent. The unique Eau Fraiche formula contains less alcohol than an Eau de Parfum or an Eau de Toilette allowing room for aloe leaf and chamomile extracts to provide moisturizing effects when applied to the skin.

Pair the Eau Fraiche with the Soft Refreshing Lotion to create a light cooling effect.

CLEAN Summer Eau Fraiche and CLEAN Summer Soft Refreshing Lotion will be available only in the month of July exclusively at HSN for $50.

Along with the fragrance, Estée has also posed a question to woman everywhere, asking them what sensuous means to them? Because every woman is sensuous in her own way, and because the fragrance is slightly different on each woman that wear it, Estée launched SensuousIs.com where women can anonymously express what the concept of sensuality means to them.

The Beauty Bug took some time to read through the variety of responses, which range from “rose petals” to “eating Oreos with ur mouth open.” Here are some of Her favorite definitions of sensuous:

“A hot jungle safari.”

“Girls in roller skates.”

“My golden retriever.”

“To own a cat.”

“Ripened fruit.”

“Family and food.”

“The first cup of morning coffee.”

“Sand between your toes.”

“Lauren Bacall in The Big Sleep.“

“White snow.”

“Writing notes.”

“Goosebumps.”

“A candle with an average dinner.”

“Singing in the shower.”

“Driving with the top down.”

“Paris.”

“Beauty on a boat.”

Notes include amber, molten woods, ghost lily accord, magnolia, jasmine petals, sandalwood, black pepper, juicy mandarin pulp and honey. It’s a warm, mysterious fragrance that is rather spicy at first, then drys down to expose it’s floral base.

Sensuous is available now at SensuousIs.com and Bloomingdales.com.

The Beauty Bug spent some time at the home hive this weekend. While making breakfast Sunday morning, Her Step Father paused to ask her, “Who do I smell like?” Hmmm…The Beauty Bug thought for a moment. David Beckham She replied confidently. He then continued to ask, “What does he smell like?” “Do you think he wears his own cologne?”

The Beauty Bug let him rant a bit more, but continued to enjoy the smell of his new David Beckham fragrance, INSTINCT. For a split second, there was this weird juxtaposition that played out in The Beauty Bug’s head between Her step father, and David Bckham, but that quickly passed. Unlike your typical run of the mill Cool Water’s and Drakkar’s that all smell alike – INSTINCT is very distinct, sharp, yet very clean, fresh and at the same time subtle. It begins with an invigorating flash of bright Italian bergamot, grapefruit and mandarin leaf notes. Next, an unexpected trio of provocation strikes via a blend of spcy red pimento, warm star anise and fusing cardamom totes. The scent ends with a seductive wave of Haiti vetiver, patchouli and a hint of white amber.

Not only is the fragrance, fresh – but so is the packaging. The cap is magnetic and forcibly pulls back onto the bottle with a definitive click at the end of each use. This kept The Beauty Bug busy for longer than She would like to admit.

Ladies, keep this fragrance in mind for Father’s Day which is right around the corner.

INSTINCT is available at drugstores nationwide, JC Penney’s, Sears, Kohl’s and ULTA stores.
